Punya Mishra is associate dean of scholarship and innovation and professor in the division of educational leadership and innovation in the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at Arizona State University. He is also an affiliate faculty with the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts. Prior to coming to ASU, Professor Mishra was at Michigan State University where he directed the award-winning Master of Arts in Educational Technology program. In 2016 he received the William J. Beal Outstanding Faculty Award for his comprehensive and sustained record of scholarly excellence in research and creative activities, instruction and outreach.<\/p>\n

Professor Mishra\u00a0has worked extensively in the area of technology integration in teacher education which led to the development (in collaboration with Dr. M. J. Koehler) of the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework, which has been described as being \u001cthe most significant advancement in the area of technology integration in the past 25 years.\u001d The readers and editors of Technology and Learning journal\u00a0named Professor Mishra as one of the 10 most influential people in educational technology. He has received more than $7 million in grants, has published more than 90 articles and book chapters and has edited three books. Professor Mishra is an award-winning instructor who teaches courses at both the masters and doctoral levels in the areas of educational technology, design, and creativity.<\/p>\n

Professor Mishra\u00a0serves on the executive council\u00a0of the\u00a0Society for Information Technology in Teacher Education. He started and served as chair of the\u00a0Creativity Special Interest Group\u00a0at the\u00a0Society for Information Technology in Teacher Education\u00a0for two years. He (with Dr. Matthew J. Koehler) co-chaired the SITE2011 conference and is former chair of the\u00a0Innovation\u00a0and Technology Committee\u00a0of the\u00a0American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education. He has also served as a member of the\u00a0Board of Education\u00a0of the\u00a0Okemos Public School District. He is nationally and internationally recognized for his work on the theoretical, cognitive and social aspects related to the design and use of educational technologies.<\/p>\n

Professor Mishra is a gifted, creative and engaging public speaker, having made multiple keynote and invited presentations for associations and conferences nationally and internationally. He is also an accomplished visual artist and poet.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
